Paul & Francene Fahey Family WebsiteDecember 19 Getting ready for xmas!Wow, one week to Christmas already! Our household has been so busy the last month. We have been a PCL adult xmas party that was amazing and a PCL kids party too. The kids had such a good time and loved seeing Santa. The next day we went to the Festival of Trees and went to the Santa breakfast Sunday morning. After breakfast we walked through the festival and saw so many beautiful and amazing trees. The kids loved the shows, especially the Highland dancers, Charlize and Clark both danced to the music! Other news in the house is that Clark can suck! He uses a regular bottle and eats like a madman.
Hope everyone is wonderful and has a spectacular Christmas, we'll update again after Christmas.
The Fahey family November 04 Happy Halloween!Hope everyone is doing great. Fall is flying by and the snow will be falling soon. Good thing we have a snow suit for Charlize because when she sees the snow we will not be able to keep her inside the house!
Our house is coming together. The painting is done and looks fabulous with our new furniture. It's a whole new place (and it is)! Our next projects are the kids rooms and then the master bedroom. One thing at a time....
Halloween was great. Charlize was Super Charlie (Supergirl) and Clark was Superboy. We went around the cul-de-sac and met the neighbors and kids. The weather was cool but nice and the kids had a great time. Next year should be a blast with them both being bigger.
Clark had his first birthday last week. One already! He smashed his cake and we had a good laugh. He is crawling everywhere and walking around furniture. Nothing is safe with him around, he is a wild man and so fast.
Happy fall to all! September 23 A Hard Few DaysIt has been a tough few days in our house. Thursday night Clark became fussy and began to run a fever. He cried a lot through the night and wanted to be held and not put down. He remained fussy Friday morning and we took him to his pediatrician who said he had an ear infection and mouth infection and put him on antibiotics. That night when we were giving him his antibiotic his nose began bleed so off we went to the Stollery Children's Hospital. Clark was admitted to the pediatric cardiac unit with mild respiratory distress and to hydrate him with an IV and give him IV antibiotics. It was a long hard night but he improved and has been making leaps and bounds over the last few days. He is drinking more form his bottle and eating well too. His hearing is amazing, no problems there! He is crawling around and has even been trying to pull himself up on the furniture! He is also playing peekaboo and waving bye-bye. He is pretty close to being back to normal and hopefully there are no more bumps in the road to recovery. We bought Charlie a twin size mattress and box spring and she thinks that sleeping in her new bed is awesome. She loves it!!! She looks so very small and big at the same time. We went to the corn maze today and it was so fun. Charlize ran around with MacKenzie and Tyler and they had a great time. The maze took us 1.5 hours to get through and the kids were very tired but we will definately do it every year. September 19 Finally settling inClark has done so well with his surgery, what a trooper he is. We were discharged on day 3 following his palate repair as he wasn't in any pain on the meds and was eating well. He wasn't drinking fro his bottle well but the Drs said that would improve daily. We have been watering down his food to get extra fluid into him instead. Each day he gets better and becomes more like himself. He is drinking up to 8oz a day of milk but is eating pablum, yogourt and baby food very well. He has begun to crawl around again and try to pull himself up on the furniture so things are getting back to normal here..... we hope he will drink more each day and get back to his normal amounts of bottles. Charlize continues to crack us up around here. She has an amazing vocabulary and says full sentences already. Yesterday she looked at Mommy and said "nice eybrows Mommy". Can you beleive she is only 2 years old??? She opens doors and can run up and down the stairs. We have just started potty training and Charlize loves to read her potty book, sing potty songs and thinks her priness pull-ups are the best. We will post some pics of the house once we get it all unpacked, still working on that for a little while longer. September 13 Clarks Surgery DayClark's palate repair and ear tube surgery was this morning. He came out of the OR at around lunchtime. Dr. Olson said that it was an "easy " repair as Clark had enough of his own tissue for the repair of his palate. He also had minimal bleeding and no problems with anesthetics. His recovery has been as good as expected. The morphine IV drip has made him a bit irritable but the tylenol has helped him with that. He had a bottle and looked very surprised when he actually sucked! He took milk well today but the plastic surgeon says day 2 & 3 he will have more pain and will drink less, but we can feed him food tomorrow! Back to the hospital I go, Paul and I are doing opposite shifts. We will update again tomorrow. Francene |
